A new perspective of religion came to me when I typed in active cults in the Google search bar. A Wikipedia article showed up that defined several new religious movements in America of all different types from a different perspective of just a common overview. Even Christian movements such as the Jesus and Shiloh movement was listed among even satanist organizations that existed through certain times. It brought the revelation to me that all the religious stuff out their regardless of what they preach can be construed as a cult. It is not just a standard of Christian activity of somebody not preaching Jesus Christ. They are even listed within this list. It gave me a different perspective than just somebody who claims Christianity calling the Mormons a cult, or Christians and Mormons calling satanism a cult.
When one looks into religion at all one has to keep standards of sane thinking. It's a matter of safety for the religious seeker. There are some famous cults that got some prominence in media. NXVIM is one such cult recently portrayed on tv going through several major legal issues. In history I'm sure we've all heard of the classic cults of danger like Charles Manson and Jim Jones. These characters were listed and mentioned in this Wikipedia list. I must say that I am blessed to know my path as a spiritual theistic satanist. I've chosen Satan as my god, and still do with the same definition I've mentioned before. People need direction of spiritual pathways to evolve into their own godhood. People need a foundation of life and liberty and equality needs to be stressed. As a member to the satanic temple this foundation I can say I still strongly believe in. America was and is supposed to be a secularist nation not giving respect to any establishment.
Consider why someone would investigate spirituality at all. People struggle daily with emotions of hatred and anger, people search for their greater purpose and feel like life needs to be more fulfilling. They search for someone to connect to with similar beliefs. This is the framework for many religious movements and overall spirituality. Human connectedness. And there are those power mongers out their that would seek religion for their own gain and prominence of authority that pervert that process. Afghanistan in this regard does not have the only terrorists in the world.
I've found a path for myself. A path truly encompassing eternal life. That is the importance of even the christian message. People say you have to be blameless before god to receive eternal life, and the only way to get to heaven is to accept god's son Jesus Christ. This is a false notion. True godhood is a process of advanced spiritual technology, and Jesus Christ is not the only way. I am comforted to know that I am in this process myself. I've come a long way in my practical life, mental health recovery is prominent as a focus of mine, and I feel so much happier and free. That is the true process of Satan. When you shed the cults of personality and dogma and look reflectively in the symbolism and imagination and follow enlightenment.
It's not the case that trying to be a professional guru of types is the answer. This I feel is a sign of false spirituality. When people claim titles and refuse the standard work to bring a soul to awareness. The common people of America and other countries are searching. They are wondering about the overall purpose. The overall reason for life. Many because they are afraid, eschew anything to do with religious nonsense because of stigma attached to certain words. Like witchcraft and satanism. The question is what is someone willing to do if they knew that there was a clandestine way to gain eternal life? And, what does that encompass in practicality? Eternal life means that people do not die. They remain consciously alive forever and ever. They experience life as a being with the memories and experiences that all life entails.
Christians say that Jesus gives them eternal life. They claim this as fact, but are you willing to bet on it? Are you willing to really put your life's work on shaky grounds?
Ponder eternal life. Ponder your spirituality and question things. Question why they are the way they are and how they can be better, and above all, don't give up.
