Herd Mentality

  • The sheep are the herd. They are those who mill about their daily lives without the respect to stand up for themselves and make it in their own way. It is usually used in a slanderous way against Christians. Satanism by the church of Satan has focused on this concept as a key factor of what Satanism is truly about, though contradict themselves with egalitarian authoritative statements saying those who need to be lead deserve to be lead. They basically continue the cycle in the opposite direction. What I am specifically referring to is the mentality more within the secular spectrum of thinking in regards to bullying and power trips of insecure people and the pull to follow along which can be tremendously overwhelming when you're caught up in the moment. I have to remind myself consistently that I have chosen the life that I have. I choose not to follow. I don't want to follow along. Even to the point of a visible goth appearance when feeling like the only one in the whole entire state. I've become comfortable with isolation to the extent that my standard conversations are among a set of about three people during the month. This got to me after my spiritual experience in 2000 because I got all happy and open about things and got extensively disappointed. I basically lost my grip on the actual reality of the situation. The herd mentality in regards to following along is lethal and sends people even to prison for criminal behavior. I have been saved from a lot of trouble by this and only have three charges on my adult record total. So for that I am grateful. But there are those times when I just wonder why it's so difficult for people to follow through socially and why I've been ostracized for religious discrimination when it seems so blatantly clear the hypocrisy behind so called loving Christians about reaching out? People are really this immature to base socialization on something as simple as faith? The answer undoubtedly is yes. They are Individuality is a stress of this ministry that I am involved in and I focus very heavily on the idea of non conformity without the hypocritical Christian notion of "just as you are" while expecting you to follow along at the same time. I really really actually practice this. While others foster the follow along routine for normal expectations, I actually follow the opposite and stress the importance of being authentic. It is anti-herdism in the truest sense. It is ironic that a typical maxim in society is the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Non Christians within this perspective are much more sincere and authentic. There was an article that discuss the use of the word Chomo in a new fashion that I read that discusses what I am somewhat getting at. You see there are people who fall into bullying and pestering and don't have any ethics or self respect and follow along with whatever they are told by those who are higher on the pecking order within prisons. I realized that society in many many ways socially operates like a prison. People expect you to follow along to find your place in life and fit in. If you don't the slander chomo is typically applied to the nerdish type of kid who is awkward and doesn't know how to be suave and doesn't have the confidence to stand up for themselves. You really have to have a solid mind in life to be sincerely authentic. To not be a member to the herd. Even taking self defense classes is a positive way to foster independence. Finding your place in life can be difficult and many don't ever really succeed. I'm hoping that people can see what I'm getting at here. You don't have to be the new chomo that can be used for even non sex offenders during bullying and harassing situations... You can stand up and not take it any more. You can become who you want to be. . I focus very heavily on this because I feel this way in life seceral times over for hot fitting into mainstream thought. I actually live what I preach, and actually strive for authenticity and sincerity in my approach. Hopefully this will encourage you to do the same, and my ministry is open to those who do not fit into the normal pecking order of how things go

Gail Dobson Peter, a couple things. Thanks for introducing a new word to me, chomo. I looked it up (probably could have done without that addition, but learn something new every day is 1 of my mottos, LOL). More importantly, the few "christians" who've de...  more
