Finding Tradition...

  • There are lots of different titles out their in the field of witchcraft to cause some concern and confusion about where to look to find actual elements of witchcraft and what actual witchcraft really is. Many are drawn to the idea of becoming a witch and have an allure to the secretive nature of it, like some type of society within a society working behind the scenes. I enjoy thinking about the fantasy potential of this to some extent. Movies and tv shows about various witchcraft activity I admire. But the idea of becoming a witch is more than that and an important process of declaration for someone to transform their lives. For years I struggled with the fact of treating fantasy elements as real for the basic reasons people would assume. Viewing dragons and fairies as real was initially not appealing to me. But the more and more I thought about things, I realize there is an extent of fantasy that is based on real life and some of it is used to skew the picture further from reality. For instance the idea of dragons being real. To my knowledge there has not been an actual sighting of a real dragon. Ironically the bible had things to do with convincing me of some actual historical elements of dragons existing. The passage of job chapter forty one discusses leviathan as a rsal being. And this makes sense that they exist considering asian mythology has a heavy focus on dragons. When you look into that aspect of aligning with leviathan you are following dangerous ground according to the book of job that says cursed is the day for those who rouse leviathan. This can be an entrance to harness the basic energy of witchcraft which at the core is really what witchcraft is about. My initial introduction to witchcraft was the church of Satan. Satan is presented as a balancing factor of nature. He does permeate the world of nature that can be both cruel and beautiful at the same time. When you think in terms of survival of the fittest without the egalitarian elitism associated with it, when it's entirely about survival of the fittest of man verses nature, there is a principle of stratification that eliminated the chosen syndrome from Magick and witchcraft. I have come to regard Satan as definite form of pure sentient energy that is a separate being that does permeate nature. This can be another way of harnessing the facets of witchcraft and entering the craft.. The more and more I dig within history the more I realize there are those who have influenced public views to lean towards the wrong aspect of proving the bible true. Studying about moloch mentioned in Exodus and Baal and Asherah and the queen of heaven are definite examples of skewed perspective. Moloch was defined as an iron bull that people would be placed in. The bible says that sacrificing children was a part of this. But I find that to be a slanderous accusations against Greek culture. The Greeks had an iron bull that they would punish criminals in. Not children. And after all, isn't it the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who demands perfection and sacrifice? These studies are ways you can start the process of becoming a witch or sorcerer. It is a continual process of finding the ebb and flow of your energy and raising it and healing yourself to become a better person. No matter what title you declare yourself under whether it is a satanist tradition or you gear more towards things like brujeria or Slavic witchcraft or you have more of a tendency for voodoo or Wicca, whatever the case is there are core elements in each tradition that are cross relevant to each other. Dragonwolf Satanism is a spiritual theistic satanist tradition that incorporates modern satanism and traditional elements of witchcraft to enhance the quality of life within the practitioner. We use the term sorcerer and sorceress to define gender within the spectrum of witchcraft and we have the neophyte grade and the adept degree I encourage you to look within your elements of practice and look to finding your roots among the practitioners of witchcraft. It definitely is a rewarding and exciting journey.
