Re: Egypt and the Coptic Christians
Yesterday, Friday the 20th May 2011 while exploring the Blue Mountains with 2 dear friends in their4 wheel drive, I had the pleasure of travelling through a tiny village and past through Putty, Sydney, and visited the St.Shenouda Coptic Orthodox Monastry there.
I was greeted with open arms, and introduced to Bishop Daniel, who with the Father based at the Monastry, took me on a guided tour of their facilities, and was shown plans of the new Cathedral they are planning to build. They then told be about a rally in the city the following day, which I mentioned that I will hopefully attend.
I attended a 1,000 strong Human Rights Rally today at Martin Place, 11am in the Sydney CBS, as a form of support for the Christian Coptic Orthadox Church members & friends. A group of Muslims in Cairo Egypt, has been murdering the Christian Coptic Church members in thier churches, Raping their Women & young daughters, and forcing them to join the Radical Muslim faith.
Also enforcing a segment of their Sharia Law which permits the killing of Christians.
Very brutal, and the Police & Government there in Cairo, have been closing a 'blind eye' to all of these activities going on. There was one instance that the Coptic Christians had their church burnt down, and later they approached the government there to ask to re-build the church. The Governments reply was for them to clean the rubble up of the old church, then get back to them. They did this, and then the Government refused a permit for the new church. The Coptic Christians have been through hell, and we need our Australian government to do something about it.
This has got to STOP !!!
