Human Trafficking

  • Girls 13, maybe 14, young girls being lured into prostitution-maybe right in your own state. They get turned out having sex with 10 to 15 men a day. If she balks, she'll be beaten, torture, disfigured or worse. She's in the equivalent of a hostage situation, alternately brutalied and showered with gifts and effection so that she no longer knows wheter to love or fear her capter. If she is lucky, she may live to see her 21st birthday. Her pimp will take her from city to city work her out of hotel rooms, casinos and convention sites, advertise her to customers on the Internet. This is th kind of information we would rather not know about-young girls being lured into prostitution. Sadly, human trafficking is a major international problem that is more prevalent than most of us realize. What happens when the children are rescued? Are they snt back to their homes? Sent to foster homes? Do they go back to school burdened with the stigma of prostitution? Do they receive some sort of therapy and rehabilitation? Were their pimps caught and convicted of a felony crime they've committed? Did the men who paid the pimps get caught? Like the drug trade, that can only flourish as long as there is a market, so child prostitution can only exist as long as there are "customers" who make it profitable. I hope that there will be some follow-up questions or replys? No one deserves to be victimized by this modern-day form of slavery. Thank You All & God Bless.  Rev. John.
