What is the best way to save ripped vintage pictures

  • May 9, 2026 10:06 AM PDT

My mom was heartbroken when she accidentally tore an old photo of her parents. It was a clean rip right through the middle, and she thought it was gone forever. I told her we could probably fix it using some of the newer tech out there. I did a bit of research and found that the Photo Restoration feature in the Overchat ecosystem is actually perfect for this kind of thing. It basically "heals" the tear by looking at the surrounding pixels. I am honestly impressed with how far this stuff has come recently. It is way easier than trying to learn Photoshop for a one-off job. The best part is the SSL security on the site, so I did not feel weird about uploading private family stuff. Does anyone have tips on how to scan them first to get the best result? I just used my phone but maybe a real scanner is better.
