I congratulate the DOJ for filing suit against NC for refusing to put a stop to its open discrimination against a segment of its citizens. Civil rights taking a turn backwards should scare everyone. Full equal rights in this country still have a way to go, but setting the bar lower just to accommodate those who still want a bit of discrimination for good measure is not the answer. Not too many years ago blacks did not have equal rights, women could not vote, non-christians could not testify in court, and gays could not marry. These are our brothers and sisters, our families. Do we as a people honestly want to tell any group, those I mentioned and those I may have left out that they shouldn't have full citizenship because the extreme wing of a political party chooses to live in the dark ages? This is the year 2016 CE, we should stand up against discrimination, especially when it is a state government doing it.
